GENERAL SUMMARY (What is done and why)

 

Individual is primarily responsible lead in the development, planning and implementation of the FBC Media and Communications Ministry.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Majority of duties performed, but not meant  to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary.)

  1. Develop, coordinate, administer and direct a multimedia ministry including radio and television broadcast, video production, audio, printing and tape.
  2. Develop, coordinate and produce multimedia support for each area of ministry within the church body.
  3. Develop, coordinate and administer the highest possible quality of projection, sound and lighting for the Worship Center.
  4. Enlist, coordinate and train volunteers in all phases of broadcast and projection production and schedule the necessary assistance to cover all events requiring video, lighting or sound equipment.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with all local media and facilitate all external publicity.
  6. Explore and implement creative use of all media in the worship experience to enhance the sharing of the gospel with the unchurched and the saints.
  7. Oversee the development and management of church publications.
  8. Inventory, maintain, and monitor all multimedia equipment and make recommendations for future equipment purchases and installations.
  9. Oversee and help coordinate the Library and Tape Ministry.
  10. Work in conjunction with the other staff members and ministries in coordinating special events and programs.
  11. Prepare, submit, and administer the budget for Media and Communications Ministry.
  12. Support the ongoing ministry of the church and lead by example through faithfulness in tithing and worship attendance.
  13. Develop personal spiritual growth through a regular program of prayer and Bible study.
  14. Accept any other responsibilities assigned by the Business Administrator or the Senior Pastor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (Minimum education, experience, technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certifications normally required to perform the duties of this position.   • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills. 
  • Adequate interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
  • Must be a baptized Christian specifically recognized by the Church, and be in agreement with the accepted theological doctrines of the Church. 

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS (Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

Internal: Work is normally performed in a climate controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.

External: Almost no outside travel is required.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (The physical effort generally associated with this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds such as files, documents, and computer printouts. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS (Positions with which incumbent has contact and the reason. Peers are employees with similar authority and decision making responsibilities who may or may not report to the same manager.)
