Service Representative/Route Driver
The Choice Books ministry has a part-time job opportunity for a route driver/bookrack service rep, to service stores including the areas from Syracuse to Buffalo NY. We would consider hiring someone from any of these areas. This is a paid position, with a servicing vehicle provided.
Choice Books of Pennsylvania, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to reach people with the gospel message through placement of Christian and inspirational books in the general marketplace. We believe one book can make a difference in someone's life. We do this by placing book displays in retail locations such as grocery stores, airports, hospitals, travel centers, department stores, pharmacies and other places where Christian materials are infrequently found. We select our rack books from over 70 publishers in the inspirational/Christian market. Since its inception over 60 years ago, Choice Books has expanded to more than 11,500 displays scattered across the continental U.S. The Pennsylvania Distributorship is one of 7 individually owned Choice Books distributorships. Currently, Choice Books of Pennsylvania has an opening for a part-time Service Representative living in the upsate NY area. We provide a company box truck for servicing, fuel for the truck, food and lodging for overnight trips. We mainly work Monday through Friday.
Essential Responsibilities include:
Primarily servicing book displays at individual accounts
Loading books each week into company truck for upcoming week's routes
Using a handheld scanner to manage accounts and truck inventory
Building good rapport with store personnel at each account
Setting and pulling displays as necessary
Qualifications:
Be a committed Christian with a desire to share the gospel of Christ
Have valid driver’s license and safe driving history (CDL not required)
Be able to lift at least 40 lbs. on a regular basis
Be capable of bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, and climbing in and out of a box truck frequently
Be self-motivated, work independently, have good time management skills, and ability to prioritize
Be able to make quick and frequent decisions when inventorying and restocking displays
Have ability to communicate orally in a professional manner with customers
Be comfortable driving a 14 foot box truck
Some overnight travel required
