Job description:
DUTIES:
1. Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the congregation, fostering a culture of faith, love and service.
2. Develop and deliver engaging, biblically based weekly sermons during worship services, as well as on special occasions and events.
3. Leadership background, experience and eagerness serving with kids. Heart for children and youth.
4. The pastor works with church ministry areas by leading, guiding, coordinating, and empowering various ministry teams to ensure that they are functioning and are consistent with the church’s vision. The work involves collaborating with ministry leaders and volunteers to plan, implement, and evaluate church programs; such as worship services, music ministry, children’s ministry and educational classes.
5. Provide pastoral care for members of the congregation, including visiting the sick, counseling those in need, and offering support during times of crisis
6. Facilitate and encourage spiritual growth and discipleship through the development and implementation of small group ministries, Bible studies, and other educational programs.
7. Engage and build relationships within the local community, participating in outreach and mission activities, and collaborating with other organizations to address community needs.
8. Work with Leadership to oversee the administration and management of church operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and personnel management in the church office.
9. Cast the vision for the church’s future. Works closely with Church Board to identify needs of the church, and to plan and develop new ideas, ministries, and programs, through attainable and measurable goals.
10. The Pastor is responsible for paid staff and ministry teams, mentoring, supervising, and supporting church staff and volunteers, fostering a positive collaborative work environment with robust leadership development. Provide spiritual and practical support to ministry leaders, helping them to develop their skills and grow in their roles.
11. Perform other pastoral duties, including weddings, funerals, baptisms, and dedications, as required. Provide pastoral care counseling and support as needed (pre-marital and otherwise)
Qualifications:
Wesley’s Chapel Church is a small town church in Bladen County, NC is actively seeking a full time Pastor who is called by God and equipped to effectively preach and teach the Word of God. Wesley’s Chapel believes the Bible to be the perfect and infallible Word of God without error. Our mission is to proclaim the love and power of our Creator as set forth in the Holy Bible. The Pastor should be highly motivated, trained, and diverse and work in cooperation with the Church Board in stating its mission, to do long-range planning, to set goals and priorities, and to evaluate its activities in light of its mission and goals. The congregation also votes upon matters of major significance. We are looking for a strong leader who feels called by God to proclaim the Gospel unapologetically and fully, and who will assist our congregation in living out our mission: To serve Christ and promote His Kingdom in the local community and throughout the world.
We have a nice parsonage within walking distance of the church and would love to have a minister and family come to serve us. We send our prayers for the minister and his family to come serve and lead Wesley’s Chapel into the future with convictions, vision, prayer, and humility. .
