Position Summary:

We have two positions available one Boys and One Girls House Manager is responsible for overseeing the evening and overnight operations of the residential homes, ensuring a structured, safe, and nurturing environment for residents. This role requires a compassionate, firm, and faith-driven individual who will mentor and guide teens in their healing journey while maintaining a structured, respectful, and loving atmosphere. The House Manager resides on-site from Monday at 4:00 PM to Friday at 8:30 AM and is responsible for maintaining a Christ-centered home environment. Key duties include enforcing house rules, overseeing daily routines such as devotionals and meal preparation, assisting with conflict resolution, and providing guidance and support to residents.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Resident Supervision & Care

  • Provide consistent, Christ-centered leadership and supervision for residents during weekday evenings and overnight hours.
  • Foster a structured, nurturing, and supportive home atmosphere that encourages spiritual, emotional, and personal growth.
  • Monitor evening routines, ensuring that residents complete household responsibilities, homework, and personal hygiene before bedtime.
  • Provide mentorship and emotional support, guiding residents through challenges with a biblical and trauma-informed approach.
  • Conduct nightly check-ins with each resident and facilitate prayer and devotionals to reinforce spiritual growth.

 

Household Management & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe home environment.
  • Enforce rules with grace, consistency, and fairness.
  • Address and de-escalate conflicts as needed, using trauma-informed intervention strategies.
  • Conduct room checks and nightly safety rounds to ensure all residents are accounted for and following curfew policies.
  • Administer and document medications in compliance with HOH’s medication policy.
  • Respond appropriately to any emergencies or crises, following established protocols and contacting on-call leadership as needed.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with the Program Manager, therapists, and school staff to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reports of resident behavior, incidents, and progress, submitting daily shift logs to the Program Manager.
  • Communicate any concerns regarding resident well-being, home environment, or disciplinary actions to the appropriate leadership.

Qualifications:

  • A deep, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission, values, and statement of faith of House of Hope Orlando.
  • High school diploma required, associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, ministry, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in residential care, youth ministry, counseling, social work, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong ability to set boundaries while maintaining compassion and relational trust with teens.
  • Trauma-informed care knowledge or willingness to complete training.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Pass Level 2 background screening and drug test.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to transport residents if needed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to live on-site Monday evening through Friday morning.
  • Ability to stay awake during overnight shifts as needed.
  • Must be able to physically assist residents in case of emergency evacuations or behavioral interventions.
  • Ability to lead small devotionals, discussions, and prayer sessions.
