The Chapel in Green is seeking a Student Ministry Director/Pastor who will be responsible for leading high school students and their families toward spiritual formation and discipleship, while also working alongside other student ministry staff to foster a cohesive ministry within the larger structure of The Chapel in Green.
Principal Accountabilities
- Supports the youth ministry by developing programs and events that cater to the spiritual and social needs of High School students within the church.
- Oversees and facilitates regular programming and events, including teaching/preaching with the end goal of helping students grow in spiritual maturity.
- Plans for, attends, and facilitates (as needed) student ministry trips, retreats, and events.
- Regularly meets with students 1-on-1 or in a small group environment, leading students with a heart of disciple-making as the end goal.
- Works closely with Family Ministry team to maintain a consistent scope and sequence throughout Kids, Middle School, High School, and beyond.
- Responsible for recruitment of Student Ministry volunteers/adult leaders for the facilitation of small groups, worship teams, and regular programming.
- Coaches, mentors and develops the volunteers/adult leaders of Student Ministry, including planning and providing curriculum and opportunities for continued development in their roles.
- Connect with local schools and community events.
- Responsible for writing and creation of small group curriculum and/or researching and selecting age-appropriate curriculum for small groups.
- Participates in bi-annual reviews of student ministry, student ministry staff, and personal performance.
- Serves as after-hour pastoral support for church members.
- Ensures fiscal responsibility and adheres to departmental budget.
- Attends and is active in a small group as time allows.
- Continues to personally develop an ongoing ministry philosophy and seeks personal growth and development as a member of TCIG Staff.
- Performs other duties the Next Gen pastor/director requests.
Qualifications
- Must have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a strong commitment to the mission and values of The Chapel in Green
- Must affirm the Doctrinal Statement and Core Distinctives of The Chapel in Green
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential
Educational Requirement
- Undergraduate degree required, MA/MDiv preferred
- 3-5 years of related experience in a church setting
