Job Overview

The Lead Technical Analyst reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications and has the responsibility of maintaining and supporting all aspects of the Slate CRM application, including but not limited to application implementation, deployment administration, application registration, report development, functional setups, security administration, and data integration development and management. The Lead Technical Analyst will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of software development projects. They will provide technical guidance and leadership to both internal and external development teams. Additionally, they will serve on various project committees to report on project progress. They will also provide technical guidance to team members, managers, and internal customers involved in the projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent process and provide technical guidance during business requirements and high and detailed technical specifications.
  • Provide oversight, assistance, and guidance to the development of the application security architecture supporting the applications.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the development of coding standards, best practices, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure quality through design reviews, code reviews, and development of standards.
  • Serve as a mentor to team members by demonstrating alternate techniques, reviewing code, and strengthening skills.
  • Must be able to interact well with multiple priorities in an extremely dynamic environment, initiating necessary tasks and ensuring complete follow-up.
  • Research and recommend appropriate application development best practices, and tools.
  • Develop new functionality on our existing software products and provide development support and assistance for escalations and issues.
  • Responsible for managing activities in collaboration with AIT, Wheaton College, vendors, and other third parties to accomplish goals, objectives, and planned growth.
  • Develop and maintain written and online system documentation, reference, and training materials.
  • Ensure all new data and processes work effectively throughout the Wheaton College enterprise system and comply with legal and data security requirements.
  • Work within the AIT Enterprise Applications team to ensure that enterprise systems operate reliably, consistently, and effectively.
  • Participate in efforts related to business continuation and disaster recovery planning, and to ensure appropriate levels of information security.
  • The position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
  • This position does not have budgetary management or oversight.
  • This position is full-time, 12-month, and salaried. May occasionally require some evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.
  • Five or more years of experience as a programmer, Data or Business Analyst preferred.
  • Advanced skills using integrated database technology and SQL required.
  • Experience working with Slate CRM is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in higher education preferred.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to document, communicate, and translate information between functional and technical staff.
  • Excellent analytical and data manipulation skills
  • Ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
  • Familiarity with Higher Education Admissions, Enrollment Services, compliance, functions, and processes a plus.
  • Able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a mature, professional manner.
  • Proven self-starter, able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated project management ability.

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift up to 10 pounds.
